However, the satellite arrived too early, and the villagers used their town slingshot to launch it into orbit. It crushed the French Embassy instead, and France declared war on the small nation. The French led bombing runs against Elbonia, but the bombs had minimal effect against the muddy terrain and the hardy Elbonians. The French ultimately called off the war when they learned there was nothing worth destroying. Ironically, the GDP of Elbonia tripled when they sold the bomb fragments for scrap, and they attempted to goad France into another war.
