The Bombing of Philadelphia was an attack on the Earth city of Philadelphia that took place in April of 2554. During a criminal raid on an ONI facility located within the metropolis, a hijacked UNSC heavy frigate fired its missile pods and point defense guns at dozens of points throughout the city before being destroyed by a hasty counter-strike. The resulting damage from the initial bombardment and the destruction of the frigate itself took the lives of thousands of civilians and resulted in a city-wide evacuation and quarantine.
