| - Alice Hortencia Amafo ( Paramaribo , February 4 1977 ) was a Surinamese politician . When she became Minister for the first time she was only 28 years, which she the youngest minister ever in Suriname. In 1996 she obtained her VWO diploma after which she studied Business Economics at the Anton de Kom University where she graduated in 2003. From 2002 to 2005 Dr Alice Amafo worked as a secretary and later as Head of Policy at the Civil Aviation Authority. Moreover, they were in 2004 and 2005 Coordinator Aviation Statistics. In 2005 took ABOP where Alice Amafo chairman of the Scientific Bureau, as part of A Combination part in the elections. Himself was Amafo in the constituency Paramaribo on the 2nd place, but the A Combination achieved there, but a DNA -seat. On behalf of the A Combination she was in September 2005 Minister of Transport, Communication and Tourism (TCT) where they Guno Castelen ( SPA succeeded). At the time she was with Lygia Collar Keteldijk the only woman in the new cabinet Venetian . In late April 2006, was Joyce Amarello third woman appointed to the Cabinet. Pretty soon after Amafos sworn she decided Marlene Harris and Marcia Clumper , both of which had a top position within the Department, to relieve of their duties. Among other things, after pressure from the government, this was reversed. In January 2006 she was despite her minister upon arrival at Schiphol forced to cooperate with a check on possession of cocaine . Schiphol offered her apologies for this in February but early March when she was in transit to Qatar at the airport went wrong again and again, she was forced to work on this control. Then further escalated this issue Surinamese Ambassador to the Netherlands felt Edgar Amanhavis compelled to make available to its function. On March 13 , 2007 Amafo resigned as minister, after reports that, for a party to celebrate her 30th birthday in January converted more than 10,000 euros of taxpayers' money was spent on food, drink and decorations. Thereafter, Michel Felisi , Minister of Regional Development who like Amafo belongs to the A Combination, and later Maurice Hassan Khan (Interior, VHP ) function where temporary hair until May 2007 when Ledge Apinsa as new Minister of TCT was sworn. With Apinsa, who like Amafo belongs to the ABOP, there were three more women in the Cabinet. In 2009 she received the title of Master of Arts in Political Strategy and Communication at the University of Kent in Brussels, Brussels School of International Studies. After the elections of 2010, they returned as Minister of Social Affairs and Housing.
