The August 11, 1984 issue of the newspaper featured ads placed by sellers named Robert, John and Robin, who were selling a DeLorean DMC-12, a non-working pinball machine and a Ferrari 308 GTS respectively. Emmett Brown went on to purchase Robert's DeLorean, which he used to build his time machine the following year; and the pinball machine from John, using the parts from it to create a fake nuclear weapon for the Libyans. However, whether Robin ever found a buyer for his Ferrari remains unrecorded. Another seller advertising in the classifieds on August 11 was Professor B.O. Beanes, who was having an estate sale and was selling a large collection of vintage books.
