The Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV), formerly called the Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV), is a high-speed, lightly armored sandrail-like vehicle first used in combat during the Gulf War in 1991. Due to their dash speed and off-road mobility, the DPVs were used extensively during Operation Desert Storm. The first U.S. forces to enter Kuwait City were United States Navy SEALs in DPVs.

Its counterparts are the FAV, which is operated by both the PLA and the MEC,the SAS and US Navy SEAls AIL Raider and the rebel, insurgent,MECSF,US Navy SEALs,SAS and Russian Spetsnaz Technical Compared to the FAV, the DPV is disadvantaged as even though both have identical speed and acceleration stats, the Heavy Machine Gun turret for the DPV only has a 180-degree firing arc as opposed to the FAV's 360-degree firing arc.
