- Walter Scott (Sir Walter Scott) (* 1771; † 1832) war ein schottischer Schriftsteller, der den bekannten Roman Ivanhoe schrieb, der mehrfach verfilmt wurde.
- Walter Scott (later Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet) was a 19th-century author of best-selling historical novels, many set in Bonnie Scotland. Famous works include Waverley, Rob Roy, Ivanhoe (which guest-starred Robin Hood and had a significant effect on subsequent portrayals), and The Bride of Lammermoor (which was adapted into a famous opera). Before venturing into prose fiction, which he published anonymously (although his identity was a poorly-kept secret), Scott was a bestselling narrative poet. His later novels were composed under the combined strain of bankruptcy and severe illness.
- Although he had already worked with Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis on Used Cars, he was not their first choice for stunt coordinator. Originally they wanted to get Terry Leonard, but he was unavailable. Leonard himself suggested them to get Walter Scott. His two younger brothers, John-Clay and Ben, are stuntmen too. John-Clay doubled Tom Wilson in Part I and Part II, while Ben doubled Wilson in Part III.

- Although he had already worked with Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis on Used Cars, he was not their first choice for stunt coordinator. Originally they wanted to get Terry Leonard, but he was unavailable. Leonard himself suggested them to get Walter Scott. He also had a cameo appearance in the first film as the driver of the jeep that Marty holds on to when he is skating his way to school. Scott, in an interview, said that he also cameod in Part II and Part III as the driver of the futuristic Jeep that Marty hooks on to during the hoverboard scene and as conductor on the train when Clara Clayton pulls the cord of the train, respectively. Unfortunately, in Part II and Part III, it is actually difficult to see his face. His two younger brothers, John-Clay and Ben, are stuntmen too. John-Clay doubled Tom Wilson in Part I and Part II, while Ben doubled Wilson in Part III.

Before venturing into prose fiction, which he published anonymously (although his identity was a poorly-kept secret), Scott was a bestselling narrative poet. His later novels were composed under the combined strain of bankruptcy and severe illness. Arguably the most famous and influential novelist of the nineteenth century, frequently imitated across Europe and in the United States. Among the novelists owing him a profound debt: James Fenimore Cooper, Charles Dickens, George Eliot, Alessandro Manzoni, and Leo Tolstoy. Notoriously, Mark Twain "sank" Scott in Huckleberry Finn.
