  • The Västzoi Incident was an unexplained incident which occurred in and near the Westlandic village of Västzoi in March 1997. The incident is widely purported by the Westlandic ufology community to have been indisputable proof of extra-terrestrial contact and remains one of Westland's most famous conspiracy theories. Around 19:30 on the 21st March 1997, residents of the small village of Västzoi, which had a population of 85, reported hearing a sonic boom followed by a loud screeching noise pass over the village. Several residents phoned and reported this to the police believing it to be an aircraft crash landing from the nearby air force base. Several residents of the village went to the investigate a nearby field where they had seen strange lights and an explosion emanating from at approximately 19:40. Farmer Markus Stärk and local ration shopworker Eli Angals were two of the residents who went to investigate the lights in the field, fearing the crash of an aircraft and expecting there to be casualties. In an interview regarding the incident, the two revealed information regarding their experiences that evening. Driving to towards the field, Markus and Eli reported hearing a high pitched noise which grew louder as they approached the field. This noise reportedly became unbearable at one point and they were forced to stop the car, until it fell silent a few moments later. The two men then continued towards the field, and upon arrival said they saw a burning wreckage that they reportedly did not recognise as any Westlandic military aircraft they knew of and did not see any distinguishing markings. Aside from a strange looking insignia which according to Markus resembled the Stonehenge circle of stones, when viewed from above. The two men could not make out if they saw any casualties and instead called the police with further information regarding what they had seen. The police arrived at approximately 19:50 accompanied by an ambulance and a fire engine. The police rather forcefully, according to Eli, told the two men to leave and quickly cordoned off the area. On the way back to the village Markus and Eli passed a military and government convoy heading towards the field. The incident was largely purported to be the crash-landing of an alien space craft. Markus' statement regarding the "stonehenge insignia" on the craft, lead to Westlandic ufologists to promulgate that Stonehenge had in fact been constructed by extraterrestrials and that the space craft was returning to Stonehenge using it as a form of navigational symbol.
