The 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season was an unprecedented hurricane season, shattering numerous records. The single most active Atlantic hurricane season, the impact was widespread and destructive, with over $200 billion dollars in property damage to the United States, Caribbean Islands, Canada, and Mexico, with most of the destruction being caused by Arlene, Cindy, Harvey, Nate, Rina, Sean, and Delta. The United States was struck by five major hurricanes, three of which made landfall in Florida. The most catastrophic effects of the season were felt in southern Florida by Hurricane Cindy and Nate, both of which combined caused nearly $126 billion dollars in property damage. Hurricane Rina in late-September brought severe damage to Maryland and Delaware, resulting in an additional $49 billion
