Genjutsu: Kekkai is a kekkai jutsu technique used to erect a field of chakra around the user that is visible only to doujutsu. Once breached, the opponent is immediately trapped in a powerful, incredibly versatile genjutsu. Even if the barrier is not maintained, the targets may find it very difficult to release the illusion depending on the specifics of the genjutsu. At the highest level, this technique can cause immediate unconsciousness, or manipulate the perception of time. If the target is knocked out, the genjutsu's effects may persist in the form of dreams or nightmares of startling precision and intensity. The target may regain consciousness if a partner is able to release the illusion, albeit in a weakened state. However, this can prove difficult if the user maintains the barrier, as any potential aid the opponent could recieve would risk also being caught in the technique. However, the user must maintain the seal and must essentially move one step at a time while using this technique. Jonin level shinobi skilled in the use of this technique can perform it with one hand by performing the half tiger seal. Alternatively, a skilled shinobi can clap his or her hands together once to activate the technique. The user can include themselves in the genjutsu if they should so wish. A gigantic version of this very technique forms the second layer of defense at In'ei Temple.
