The Five Dollar coin was made in 1992 to replace the HKD 5 Dollar British because of its independence. These are somewhat thick, and have a copper coloured middle layer. These are also heavier than other denominations. The coin is the second highest denomination coin in Hong Kong, the highest is the HKD 10 Dollar.
