  • Masaje is an elder in the Church on Salus that preaches optimism in a dying world. One day, Stel Caine stopped by to seek his advice. Her life was in a downward spiral and she couldn't understand given her faith in optimism. Masaje informed her it was not her optimism bringing misery into her life, but her fear. When their father was murdered and mother lost on a journey to the surface to find a recovered probe, Tajo and Della returned home to recharge their Helm Suit. They had been through hell and put up with torture. Tajo tried to convince Della about being optimistic and reminded her about how Stel would return home happier after visiting Masaje. Della decided to visit the Masaje. When he tried to convince her of optimism, Della murdered the Masaje.
