Anjor is a mage found in the fifth level of the Abyss. When the Avatar met him in Ultima Underworld I, Anjor explained how he was searching for a way to create gold. He'd made progress, but for a breakthrough he needed Zanium. Sadly, the mine was closed and the only one who knew the access code was one of the Exiles, Kneenibble. Anjor promised the Avatar a reward for entering the mine and getting at least 80 Zanium for him (only one had to be picked up, the rest would be attracted to it).

After doing so, Anjor created a huge gold nugget for the Avatar, which can be given to Goldthirst for a magical weapon.
