Said to be his greatest work ever called "IL Pagliaccion Triste"(The Sad Clown) watercolor on canvas painted in 1913 as a gift to the governor of Borgia. Amazingly this painting was painted before his grandfathers death in 1916. But the painting in which depicts a very sad yellow clown must reflect how he felt about never meeting his mother. Vito Salvotore Puccini died then in 1943 in southern Italy (at the age of 45 years old) do to starvation because of World war II.
