He went away to school in the Core Worlds where he made numerous aristocratic friends of questionable loyalty to the Empire. Although he believed that his grandmother was unaware of his ties to the Rebellion this was not true and indeed much of the information passed onto the Alliance by Kashan was leaked by Lady Santhe.
