One of the good Doctor’s sword canes toppled through the hole, but I am almost certain he will not notice as he seems to lose them wherever we go, and yet always has another about. A strange use of his magical power, and yet, if I knew magic, surely the first spell I would devise would grant me a never-ending supply of Boston’s finest chocolates. I suppose my employers are so familiar, by now, with random jerks, sounds and smells coming from my vicinity on the airship that they simply ignore them, to my benefit. But I am frantically trying to repair it, and writing you this letter while working as a guise for sitting alone. Meanwhile, I have good news. Our airship points her gilded nose north and towards home. I may even precede this letter to you, assuming my tiny accident escapes notice. I am not sure how my employers determined that England is our next destination but I am gratefully anticipating some of Mama’s cabbage soup and potato fritters. The strange foreign foods have made me very uncomfortable, never certain what I am eating or whether the food will burn my mouth or upset my stomach. I must go and stop the mechanical Cogsworth from digging another hole in the box I have put it in. Somehow, the absent-minded dwarf left his companion behind and I am unwilling to take it apart since I still do not understand the engine powering it.
