- Pellets er en energikilde som er laget av treflis. Treflisen blir kokt under trykk og presset sammen uten bruk av bindemidler. Pellets brenner svært rent med svært lave verdier av sot og partikler. Brenningen av pellets foregår i en spesiell pelletsovn. I forhold til ved er energiinnholdet i pellets ca. tre ganger så høyt. Det er derfor økonomisk gunstig å bruke pellets til oppvarming. Allergikere og astmatikere som blir plaget av vedfyring, klarer ofte å tilpasse seg fyring med pelletsovn.
