A Bug Catcher is a general term for a trainer in the Pokemon series of games who trains Bug-Type Pokemon. However, in Pokemon Genesis, the Bug Catcher character is more detailed, revealing that they do not participate in the LEague Tournament but instead have their own league, the Bug League. By defeating all the members of the Bug League, a trainer becomes a Bug Maniac.

* Bug Pokemon have a low chance of surviving in battle because of... Well, I don't feel like going that deep into the average Bug Pokemon's stats and stuff. 2.
* Bug Pokemon like Metapod and Kakuna, which, for some reason, when owned by Bug Catchers, don't know their previous evolutions' moves for some reason. Apparently, when they're found in the wild the previous sentence also applies to wild Metapod and Kakuna. What a strange thing... Well, I'm sure you understand, especially with how redunndant the second reason was.
