It could be loaded with flowerpots, which could then be launched into position all over the greenhouse. Plett would test Jedi children by seeing if they could launch the flowerpots into position without destroying them. When Imperial Inquisitors attacked Plett in his greenhouse, R2-J1 distracted them by using the device to distract them, turning the flowerpots into projectiles.
