Moreover, the name Department of Senate Affairs was replaced by the Senate Secretariat in July 2005. According to this regulation, the Secretariat of Academic Affairs shall assume the function of the Senate Secretariat. The present Secretariat of Academic Affairs consists of the Department of Admission and Registration, the Senate Secretariat and the Examinations Section (scores entry and checking). objectives * 1. Compilation of registers of eligible and accepted candidates for each year by using a developed and flexible computer program that can provide a variety of information about students, classified by educational region, academic programmes, sex, etc. * 2. Preparation of information database for the different categories of students to assist in carrying out any research or social studies in relation to these categories in the future. 1. to design and prepare application forms. 2. to carry out all procedures relating to admission and registration and to facilitate the task of the General Directorate for Admission personnel in the consideration of student admissions, in accordance with university regulations. 3. to carry into effect the decisions of the Academic Affairs Secretary relating to special cases of student admission. 4. to follow up payments of tuition fees . 5. to prepare the academic calendar. 6. To perform the functions of the Senate Secretariat as follows: A. Preparation for the meetings of the Senate. B. Calling for periodical and urgent meetings. C. Taking minutes of the meetings. D. Keeping the records and files of the Senate business. E. Keeping a register of the Senate members. F. Any other tasks assigned to it by the chairman of the Senate or any of its committees or its Secretary Admission and Registration Regulations for the Year 2006-2007 First: Bachelor Degree Program 1. Academic Program: OUS awards the B.A. and B.Ed. general Degrees and the B.A and B.Ed. Honours degrees in the following fields of study: A. Education :B. Business Administration C. Accounting :D. Computer Sciences. E. Information Technology (IT) F. Languages G. Arabic for non-native speakers. H. Dawa (missionary work). 2. General Regulations of Admissions: A. Sudan School certificate or equivalent B. Certificate of educational institutes and the certificate of Islamic institutes (Only for education program). C. Candidates who have successfully obtained Sudan Secondary School or equivalent, with passes in six approved subjects, provided the certificate was obtained 5 years previously. Certificates obtained less than 5 years previously must include passes in 7 subjects, including the 4 main subjects. D. Students will be considered for admission on the basis of the order of preferences indicated in their application forms. E. A candidate must enquire about the outcome of his application at the centre where he submitted his application form. 3. Regulations of Mature Students Admission A. Mature students should be over 30 years of age (certificate of birth, to be enclosed). B. Experience bearing testimony to no less than 10 years of work experience pertinent to the student’s intended field of study C. Enclosed C.V. D. Completion of the special application form for mature students.v 4. Admission Period: Application for admission is open from the first of March to the first of December of every year. 5. Application for Admission: A. The admission form is available from every educational region in the capital or the states, for a fee of SDG 25. B. Ministry of Education nominees can obtain application forms from directors of training in the capital and the states. C. Every applicant must fill out an application form. D. An applicant should name a minimum of three choices in the application form (for applicants other than Ministry of Education nominees). E. Teachers nominated by Ministry of Education should apply only for the education program. F. The following documents must be enclosed with the application form: :* Sudan school Certificate or equivalent. :* Nationality Certificate. :* 4 passport size photographs. G. Applicants living abroad should enclose the necessary documents showing that they or their guardians are living abroad. H. Teachers not nominated by the Ministry of Education may be admitted to the B. Ed. degree program on the presentation of accredited certificates from state ministries of education concerned. I. Officials are required to compare photocopies with the originals to verify that Sudan School certificates and nationality certificates are authentic and to return the originals immediately to the applicants concerned.. J. Applicants who have equivalent certificates (Arab or foreign certificate, educational certificate… etc) must enclose the original certificate with the application form. K. An applicant shall have no right to withdraw or to alter the application form after handing it to the official concerned. L. An applicant shall submit only one application form stamped by the seal of the educational region. 6. Certificates not considered equivalent to Sudan School Certificate: A. Vocational Certificate. B. Apprenticeship Certificate. C. Commercial Diploma of Egyptian Schools. D. SOLO Certificate. E. Bahar Institute. F. Computer Institutes Certificate. 7. Admission Centers: : A. The Capital Educational Regions are: :* Khartoum Center :* Omdurman Center. :* Bahri Center. : B.
