Speed Stiles was a former DEA Agent, working closely with fellow agent Brody. In 1988 Brody and Chilean National Police General Ernesto Guerrero got together on an arms deal to circumvent the then-in-place arms embargo to Chile by the US. Stiles was responsible for obtaining the merchandise (guns, rocket launchers, etc.) including "Baseballs" (cluster bombs) to use in the country. Stiles arranged the deal and obtained the arms, then Guerrero (to ensure no witnesses) shot Stiles dead in his warehouse.
