Darth Cranler was born on the planet Krypton. One day when he was young, some Jedi stormed in and killed his father, believed to be a Sith. Cranler managed to find help from some friends of his parents. They raised him until he was old enough to travel away. While on a journey, he encountered the Sith. Darth Kracor took him as an apprentice from 36 ABY to 38 ABY. Before his promotion to the rank of Acolyte, he was given authority of the Dorik system by Kracor as a facility to start an empire. He has isolated himself there ever since, with little contact with the Council.
