  • The Falcon class destroyer was a type of starship used by the Romulan Star Empire. The Falcon class were designed to replace the Talon-class scout ships in the role of a high speed combat vessel that would be capable of defending itself for use in high risk insertion operations as well as escort missions. The Falcon features additional weapon mounts to make the ship more formidable in battle should it find itself unable to engage its cloaking device or if was incapable of escaping its enemies. • The Falcon class was a class of destroyers built and used by the Royal Manticoran Navy. (JIR1, HHA5.3: LD) A product of the same design study that brought forth the Apollo-class light cruiser and Lightning-class frigate. It was heavy on beam weaponry, designed to close quickly and engage its enemy at a short range. A total of 88 units were built. (Companion)

(JIR1, HHA5.3: LD) A product of the same design study that brought forth the Apollo-class light cruiser and Lightning-class frigate. It was heavy on beam weaponry, designed to close quickly and engage its enemy at a short range. Introduced in 1851 PD, the first flight of Falcon-class units suffered from the same sub-standard construction practices which caused the structural weaknesses of the Apollo class. Most of them needed refits. They were considered to be too fragile to survive an energy engagement, but still remained in service until the general fleet drawdown of 1916 PD, after the First Havenite-Manticoran War had ended. A total of 88 units were built. (Companion)
