The Borderlands is a small but highly populated and highly powerful nation. The nation itself is situated on three small islands in the South Pacific. The largest of the three islands is Vertigo. The Isle of Vertigo is the most populous and contains the capital of Tsunamy of the same name. The city of Vertigo covers the entire island. With the exception of some parks in the city and an occasional tree, there is absolutely no vegetation in Vertigo. The city is a large tourist attraction as well as a large commercial area. It has been said that Vertigo is "...a mixture of Las Vegas and Miami" and "A million times better than Atlantic City." To the northeast of Vertigo is the Isle of Larissa. Larissa is much calmer than Vertigo and where more families like to vacation. Larissa contains the villages of Billie, Lopes and Cho. The beaches are just as nice, however there is less of a night life in Larissa. During the daylight hours, movies and theaters compete with the beach to draw away the tourists. For this reasons, Larissa is the center of the arts in Tsunamy. Due west from Larissa and northwest from Tsunamy is the third of the islands, Amber Isle. Amber Isle is an exotic island where it as though humans have never touched the earth. The original rainforest remains untouched on this island. Here, it is illegal to cut down any trees or destroy vegetation. This causes a problem for those living near the edge of the forest, because the overgrowth of the rainforest spurs attacks by the flesh eating Venus Fly Trap. Amber Isle was the scene of the original "Survivor" and attracts as many tourists as Vertigo. Tsunamy is ruled by its Director Amneris. While elections are held for its legislative branch, Amneris has yet to be formally opposed in an election. The people love him. The citizens of Tsunamy are very friendly. They are kind and compassionate and willing to help everyone. The nation was originally founded by refugees from other nations who believed that peace can only be achieved by understanding and not by war.
