- To enter Vampire Castle, the party is told by Lord DeRosso to find the six keystones needed to unlock the gate. Each keystone is rewarded after the defeat of six dragons located at monuments scattered over the world map.

- The Keystone is a source of pure energy, and is very powerful, being able to restore the Thunderstrike to full power and heal both Lion-o and Lynx-o. However it has a corrupting influence causing its holder to become dependent on its power by turning him or her into its slave. This is seen when Tygra fell victim to it and was reduced to a weakened state (Working ragged and not eating for two days). Alluro was able to take the stone from Tygra and was planning to use the stone power to overthrow Luna. Eventually, its hold over Tygra was broken by the Sword of Omens, and he then used his bolowhip to shatter the keystone for good.
- The Keystones were six pieces of a tablet detailing the way that the Great Spirit Mata Nui was to be awakened that was kept with Av-Matoran. They also acted as the key to disrupting the field around and opening the Codrex.
- The Keystone is one of five Bloodstones through which the Gods of Tyria forever shattered magic in the world of Tyria over 1000 years ago. The Keystone is the piece required to assemble the other four. For more information and background, read the Bloodstone article.
- Keystone is a pub game in Fable II and Fable II Pub Games that is described as a mixture between Roulette and Crappes. In this game, the player bets on the tiles of a board shaped as an arch. These bets, called "arch bets", are placed at the start of the game on any number from 3 to 18 and are kept until they are won or the game ends. Then the player makes "inside bets", which are effective only on the present turn and can be repeated in future turns. Inside bets can be placed on any number from 3 to 18, a range of numbers (4 to 9, 10 and 11, or 12 to 17) or a group of numbers (red, black, even or odd). The player may also bet on other different combinations. The player then rolls three six-sided dice, the addition of which is a number on the board.
- The Keystone was not inert even when separated. The individual components could be located by their radiation emissions. While stored in Hyperion's laboratory, Egon Stetmann noticed that as more components were collected and stored together, the more power the containment field required. According to Commander Jim Raynor, the battlecruiser's crew claimed to have been experiencing strange visions and unexplained noises, though Doctor Ariel Hanson dismissed them as superstitious nonsense – suggesting that she herself had not had such experiences.
- Magnimar's central district of Keystone surrounds the mysterious and beautiful Seerspring Gardens that sit almost exactly at the centre of the Shore region and the whole of modern Magnimar. With the Seerspring Gardens at its heart Keystone radiates out along four main avenues each lined with impressive buildings like the Temple of Iomadae and Magnimar's illustrious wizards school, the Stone of the Seers. Keystone is surrounded by other districts with the salt encrusted Dockway to the north east, artistic Lowcleft to the south east, the Marches bustles to the south west while the poverty stricken maze of Rag's End stretches to the north west. Central to the city of Magnimar Keystone still manages to maintain its own unique feel and thanks to Seerspring Gardens is a surprisingly peaceful dis
- That said there's plenty of family terrain at Keystone. Long green and blue cruisers wind down from the summit of Dercum Mountain. Further back on North Peak the blues give way to a few more blacks, while way back in The Outback North and South Bowls and the forest below them offer plenty of true black diamond terrain, much of it underused. Keystone has recently added 861 acres of snowcat-accessible bowl and tree-skiing, and has increased its overall vertical another 500 feet.
- When a Geist bonds itself with a dying person in order to create a Sin-Eater, the fresh created Bound receives a gift as a symbol of his new bond. This gift is a keystone memento — nothing less than the unbeating heart of the geist. It is a physical manifestation of the geist’s past and the key to its power. The act of offering this precious object to a Sin-Eater is a declaration of empowerment, the handshake of a partnership and, in part, a demonstration of submission and recognition of value. From this Keystone stem the Threshold and respective Keys of the future Bound, as well as some skills that the Geist once possessed during his lifetime.
