The Drillimation Show, also known in Japan as Crystal Island, is a Japanese-American animated series created by Susumu Takajima for Kyoto Animation. The production is done almost entirely by himself along with a few others at the studio. The series is made in the style of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, with sprites being used for animation cells, rather than pen and ink. The show's plot was inspired by parts of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels, as well as the slice-of-life segments from the Lucky Star franchise.
