| - Wayne Edwards from Shepherdsville, Kentucky is a part time racer in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He currently drives the #24 Mighty Motorsports Chevy with sponsorship from Liquid Nitro Energy Drink.
Busch Series Career
Despite mainly racing in the Truck Series, Edwards has made two career Busch Series starts.
*2003-He made his debut driving the #22 Bost Motorsports Cheyv at Pikes Peak. He started 38th but was a start and park, finishing 43rd without even making a lap.
*2005-Edwards did make 111 laps in his start at Kentucky, driving the #91 Speed Zone Dodge. However, he didn't finish the race, finishing 36th with transmission problems.
Craftsman Truck Series
Edwards made his Truck Series debut in 2000, driving the #93 WorldBestBuy.com Chevy for Troxell Racing. His debut came at Homestead-Miami. There he started 30th and finished 27th, finishing the race. In twelve other races, his best finish was a 19th at NHIS. As for qualifying, his best result in that category was a pair of 27ths.
Edwards made a pair of starts in 2001, both coming again with Troxell Racing. He was 34th at Gateway and 35th at California, failing to finish both races. However, he did set his best career start of 21st at California.
However, despite the poor results, Edwards still made four races the following year . His best finish was a 25th at Darlington for Phil Bonifield. In fact, it was the only race in 2002, as Edwards did not finish the other three races.
Eight races are credited to Edwards in 2003, the best being a 23rd at Bristol, but with also earned a pair of 24ths. Also, Edwards matched his best career start with a 20th at California.
Edwards added four more races in 2004. He set his best career finish to that point with a fifteenth at Daytona, and then had a 28th finish in the inagural race at Atlanta. However, in the next two races, Edwards did not finish either race in the #0 Loni Richardson-owned Chevy.
Edwards most productive season to date came in 2005. He started the year off in solid fashion. Dodging a last lap wreck, Edwards drove the #24 MM Chevy to a 9th place at Daytona, a showing that still is his best career finish. Also, Edwards was able to finish four of his other nine starts, the best of those being a 23rd at Loudon. It led to a finish of 33rd in points.
Edwards has attempted to make the first handful of races in 2006, but has failed. Overall, Edwards' best finish is a 9th at Daytona and a 20th at California. Edwards is scheduled to complete the majority of the 2006 schedule for Mighty Motorsports.
