In Christian demonology (Late Medieval- Early Modern European), Scox (Shax, Chax, Shan, Shass, Shaz) is a demon with the rank of Great Marquis of Hell (and in some accounts, Duke), commanding 30 legions of demons. He is depicted as a stork which speaks with a hoarse yet subtle voice, but once inside a magic triangle (read further on), his voice will clear up. At his conjurer's request, he can take away sight, hearing, or coherence from anyone they wish and can also steal money from the houses of kings, not to mention stealing horses. He can also find hidden things for the conjurer (but only if those things are not hidden by other evil spirits). He can provide high-quality Familiars to a conjurer, but sometimes those familiars can deceive a conjurer. He is a great liar unless he is brought

Once inside, he will become very loyal and obedient. Scox is 1 of 69 demons listed in the Pseudomonarchia Dæmonum and 1 of 72 listed in the Ars Goetia (the first section of the Lesser Key of Solomon). Shax was also a demon who appeared in the TV series Charmed. He was a demon of wind who managed to kill one of the sisters, Prue Halliwell. Prune from the BCNM "Charming Trio" is named after Prue Halliwell. The other NMs in that BCNM are named after the other two witch sisters from Charmed.
