| - Žarko Pavelić was a Human male who served as a colonel in the ground forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, after defecting from the Stormtrooper Corps, in which he originally served as an field stormtrooper. Žarko hailed from the planet of Carida, a military oriented world in the Colonies. The soon of a Republic general, he followed his father's path by joining the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire, in 3 BBY. Žarko proved to his instructors at the Carida Imperial Military Academy that he was an exceptional marksman, and was assigned to a unit of field stormtroopers; which were essentially elite infantry. However, upon being ordered to destroy an entire village on an Outer Rim world after finding that they were harboring Rebel fugitives, Žarko refused, and eventually defected to the Rebellion. While serving the Rebel Alliance, he was made a colonel and commanded an elite infantry unit known as the 94th Rifle Corps. The unit fought on Yavin IV, Hoth, and many other fronts during the Galactic Civil War. When Žarko was serving as a general in the New Republic, he commanded the Republican Guard, a paramilitary service within the Defense Forces that acted as an internal security and reserve unit.
