Thus Hwakkan's drunken style came to be practiced. Viendul is probably one of the more difficult styles to learn. Though the injestion of alcohol is not required, the user of the form acts as if he/she is drunk, constantly pretending to drink from and imaginary bottle. When a duelist uses Viendul, the duelist wobbles, sways, and sometimes even falls, completely confusing their opponent. They twirl their lightsaber crazily, looking as if it is the first time they have ever used one, hence the Way of the Novice. It is this confusion and misdirection that gives the user the advantage. This form is not one of the official twelve lightsaber forms, simply because of its unorthodoxy. Most Jedi believe it is a ridiculous form that is not worthy of induction and thus should not be practiced. However, many Jedi Swordsman, such and Master Arca Tors and Master Kyodai see that its misdirection and ability to confuse can be highly effective. Viendul is usually not a particularly aggressive form, though as it has evolved, it has taken a couple of elements from Ataru. Because of this, Viendul is not particularly used against opponents who use aggressive styles, especially style like Ataru and Dayo, as the user in constantly in motion and has no time to pay attension to the Viendul user's movements. Viendul is especially effective against Tràkata and Soresu. Because of this forms unorthodox methods, there is really no opening stance for it. However, all user begin the form by take a sip from an imaginary bottle, signifiying drunkeness.
