A member of the Indian Civil Service, he acted as collector and district magistrate, Kanara District, Bombay. Awarded the MBE in the Birthday Honours 1947. He returned to the United Kingdom and settled in South Kensington and was a Conservative Party Member of the London County Council representing Fulham East from 1949-52. He retired to East Sussex where he died in 2002 aged 88.

A member of the Indian Civil Service, he acted as collector and district magistrate, Kanara District, Bombay. Awarded the MBE in the Birthday Honours 1947. He returned to the United Kingdom and settled in South Kensington and was a Conservative Party Member of the London County Council representing Fulham East from 1949-52. In 1955 he had a position with the Overseas Directorate of the Federation of British Industries and visited India to enquire into the country's five year industrial plan and how it would impact British business. He retired to East Sussex where he died in 2002 aged 88.
