(Ret.) Corporal Casey Owens (born c. 1981 in Houston, Texas) is a United States Marine, Iraq War veteran, and paralympic athlete from Houston, Texas, United States, who has come to fame from his feats of completing marathons in a wheelchair. Since his legs were amputated after being severely injured in September, 2004 by shrapnel from an anti-tank mine explosion while on a rescue mission to find a comrade during his second tour in the Iraq War. He is also a paralympic skiier.
