Rev. Henry Herman Carlisle (27 August 1863 - 14 June 1945) was a Congregational minister and local politician. Born in Southampton, Carlisle was educated at the University of Cambridge, graduating BA 1885 and MA in 1889. He attended Cheshunt College for training as a minister. He was minister of maldon, Essex from 1889–99 and of Newland, Lincoln from 1899-1908. In 1908 he moved to London to become minister of Balham Congregational Church, holding the post until 1919.
