As a full grown adult, Addis Ababa started to take an interest in rovers that visited the group. Her mothers left the group and both disappeared in September 2001 after a group of Vivian rovers joined the Lazuli. Several of the females mated with the new males including Addis Ababa, but all lost or aborted their litters except Addis Ababa. She carried her litter full term and Addis Ababa geva birth to Samurai and Tsunami on November 16, 2001. Both her pups survived. Cazanna started to evict Addis Ababa and her sisters. In November 2002 Addis Ababa was evicted along with her litter-mate Ouagadougou and younger sister Conrad. The females were joined by two wild males and three of the Vivian males that were returning from roving. Instead of rejoining the Lazuli, the small group stayed togather to form their own new mob.
