Toward the beginning of her seventh-grade year, Alexandra Quick considered joining the Witch Rangers before learning that their Good Witch's Pledge is actually a binding magical oath. When she discovered that the Pledge includes a promise to respect authority, follow school rules, obey one's parents, avoid practice of the Dark Arts, avoid using magic in front of Muggles, and avoid casting hexes or curses, Quick's interest waned.
