The Ke'rath-class Cruiser was designed to replace the Skaadi and Njord classes of cruisers in service with the Confederate Navy. The Ke'rath was created by a design team mostly consisting of Decuri. They modelled their design upon the fierce power of the traditional Decuri God of War, Ke'rath (thus the name). They succeeded. The Ke'rath-class Cruiser was a dedicated assault ship, and like many Kartanin designs, most of its armament was pointed forward. Defense consisted of laser cannons and strong shields, augmented by backup shields.

In 17 ABY, the class was updated with antimatter reactors and BioComps.
