Despite his side losing to West Ham United, he attracted the attention of Premiership clubs Everton and West Brom. After a loan spell, Etuhu sign permenantly for Norwich City for a fee of £450,000. Just eighteen months later Etuhu was on the move again with a £1.5m move to newly promoted premiership side Sunderland. After just 20 appearances for the black cats, Roy Hodgson brought the Nigerian to South West London, scoring his debut goal away at Manchester City on Easter Sunday 2009.
