  • 畦更はホビット庄の東四が一の庄の中で（少々変わり者であるが）最も高く評価されている住人、お百姓のマゴットの家である。マゴットの壮大で肥沃な農地は、成功の鍵を握る湿地帯や沼地で知られている沢地に位置する（そのおかげでホビットから愛されている珍味、茸を栽培している！）。 だが、お百姓のマゴットの地に足を踏み入れるような危険を冒してはならない。彼は3匹の凶暴な犬（きば、くいつき、おおかみ）を飼っており、茸を盗もうとするホビットの若造ども（また、隙のある標的を求めている恐ろしい黒マント姿の人間）から土地を守っているのである。お百姓のマゴットは特にブランディバック一族や名家トゥックから賢者と見なされているが、土地を荒らす者は容赦しない。
