Dome applied to the Japanese Ministry of Transpot to attain homologation for the Zero as a road-going vehicle for the general market, but the Ministry of Transport stubbornly stalled an approval. Abandoning plans for domestic homologation in Japan, Dome shifted its attention to attaining homologation in the U.S., creating the Dome Zero P2, which incorporated minor upgrades like larger bumbers to comply with U.S. regulations. But the P2 project was shelved after Dome announced plans to compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans with a prototype racer. Now the Zero lives on only in memory.
