Henry Drummond was an agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), working in Colombia, trying to stop the drug trade at the source. In 1985, he brought Metro-Dade Vice cops James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs in to find out about the Revilla cartel's delivery of a large load of drugs into Miami. Drummond was able to guide Crockett & Tubbs through the tangled thicket of third-world politics and Tubbs managed to get the info out of a badly tortured Revilla operative before Drummond is forced to get them out before all of them are killed. Drummond and his agents (along with Metro-Dade) manage to stop the shipment and kill most of the drug smugglers except for Miguel Revilla, who got away and let a group of hitmen to kill Drummond and two other DEA agents, and badly injure Gina C
