A perimeter field charge was a type of force field emitted on sections of the Galaxy-class starships. In 2367, Lieutenant Commander Data took control of the USS Enterprise-D from the bridge and directed it to the planet Terlina III. Data instructed the Enterprise's computer to initiate a perimeter field charge between sections 9-K through 12-T. During this, Commander Riker, Lieutenant Worf and security officer Casey attempted to enter the Enterprise's bridge by opening panel J14-Baker from directly behind Science II and regain control of the starship.
