Early in the history of Telian space flight, scientists theorized that to attain ever higher velocities, they would need to develop a system that would allow spacecraft compensate for inertial forces that would be fatal to the crew of these vessels. With developments in force field technology, Telian scientists eventually created the technology that would lead to today's modern inertial compensators. Directly interfaced to a ship's driver, this technology applies an inverse field, directly proportional to the driver's acceleration curve, thereby preventing the effect of forward inertial momentum from crushing the crew of the vessel.
