The battle site is the Cerro Cora National Park, Distant about 40 km Pedro Juan Caballero, The departmental capital of Amamby (border with Ponta Pora - Brazil) The last to perish was the President and Commander in Chief Marshal Francisco Solano López and Panchito his son, the two killed by Chico Diabo a corporal of the Brazilian Army. Many prisoners were executed, including a son of Solano Lopez who had only ten years.
