| - Byurnadin-Covra Tachtronics is a niche-market technology fabricator located in Hammerton, Mergansar. It is a small company, focusing on highly customized swoops, speederbikes, rollers, and airspeeders, offering not only the machines themselves but a range of components and kits as well. Their swoops and speederbikes are prized among collectors, with the M9 Vigor being one of their signature examples. They are third behind CASE and OnCraft, though, in terms of Union production volume. "BC" is a home-grown company, founded by Draemon & Lily Byurnadin – Meditersari-Sarians – and Mirtomir Covra – a Verpine immigrant. The company was well-respected for hiring and integrating several dozen different alien species, resulting in wares that had many different attributes and design styles. This hiring practice was often at odds with the native populace, but concessions were made over time. Production quantities remained relatively low throughout BC's history, though, because Draemon Byurnadin emphasized hand-made fabrication over assembly-line production. Wide-scale repulsor technology, too, was slow in coming to Caspia, so very few speeder and swoop models were pursued. Expertise in unique component fabrication caught the interest of Caspia's new think-tank group, CDMC, and in 6 ABY Byurnadin-Covra engineers were tapped to provide points of advice on the new batch of Shearwater-class Frigates that were in the midst of construction. After a thorough consultation, BC provided CDMC with the basis of the Vortex power distribution component, which would be included in several new starships and contribute to their mission survivability. Since then, in addition to continued fabrication of custom swoops and speederbikes, BC has been requested on several occasions by CDMC to design and fabricate spec'd-to-task electronic components in light of NovaCom's departure. BC will often design the component, but concedes that it is not equipped to manufacture production runs of the object. In such an instance, CDMC will locate a manufacturer.
