The 88th has seen combat during the Xen'Chi War and later with other smaller proxy wars'. The Regiment's first commander was Maxus J. Gerhard a Colonel in the Imperial Army. Colonel Gerhard turned the average armor regiment into a formidable fighting force. The 88th has seen many victories and is given high praises from other military leaders. The 88th has the lowest mortality rate in the entire Imperial Army with also a high success rate to go along with it. Some other organizations have been lead to believe the reason why the Regiment has seen only success is because of their Force sensitive Commander, Maxus Gerhard. The current commander of the Regiment is Lieutenant Colonel Wilhelm Hartley, the regiments previous XO under Gerhard.
