Urko's rifle discharges, alerting soldiers. Virdon locates a roomful of cables, but an ape shoots Harimon before he can make a connection. The astronaut carries the ape to the basement, where Harimon completes the amplifier circuit before dying. Virdon barely makes it out as the deep ultrasonic blast brings down the entire building. This scares off the apes, and after a heartfelt reunion, the fugitives return to life on the run.
