The Kig-Yar (also called Jackals) are a species of bird-like saurians hailing from the planet of Eayn in the Y'Deio System. Known for their heightened senses of smell, sight and hearing, the Kig-Yar once served as mercenaries and privateers to the Covenant Empire up to its disbanding. The Kig-Yar have several known subspecies and races, each significantly differing in physical appearance. These species include the Vulture (the most common subrace), the lizardlike Monitors and the dinosaurian Skirmishers of Iyan.
