| - Cyber-Soldier was an army experiment and enemy to the Offbeats.
Early life
Zdenko Novak was born in the industrial town of Trebisov in Slovakia. Once he came of age he joined the military and fought in many a battle. However, during one fight, a shrapnel grenade rolled towards Zdenko and he was unable to escape the blast in time. His body, rather than being buried was instead handed over to the American government, who wished to do various tests and experiments on the recently deceased without anyone finding out. Zdenko's body was sealed inside an airtight container and sent to America.
Reanimated
Once in the scientists' hands, Zdenko's body was outfitted with various robotic parts, and by the time they were finished, only the upper right hand side of his face and part of his arms were still flesh. Once this was done, they pumped his body full of chemicals and activated the mechanical heart located within Zdenko's chest. Zdenko opened his eyes and discovered that he was alive...in a manner of speaking. The head scientist explained to him that the army had wanted the experiments done so that they would never have a lack of soldiers, as long as they were recently deceased. Enraged by the fact that he was being used, Zdenko slaughtered most of the scientists and soldiers at the base and fled.
Life of evil
Once he was well clear of the base, Zdenko pondered his situation and decided that the military was to blame, and went out looking for any other military bases. Once he found one, he entered and began to hunt down and kill the soldiers, as well as destroy their vehicles and equipment. However, his activities were noticed by both the Offbeats and the Avengers. Zdenko was not dealt with straight away because the Avengers were engaging in a fight with the Offbeats, which he noted. Eventually, however, both sides noticed the carnage Zdenko was causing when he destroyed a tank. The two groups formed a temporary truce and fought Zdenko together. Despite his power Zdenko was no match for both teams and was defeated and shut off.
Escape
However an emergency back up system activated and Zdenko managed to escape. Following this he renamed himself the Cyber-Soldier.
