Nieh Ho-Ting (Pinyin: Nie Heting) (1905-1971) was a member of the Chinese Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army during the Chinese Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, and World War II. He served under Lin Biao as a division commander, and may have been a part of the Long March, and at some point achieved the rank of major general. In 1956, he was made a lieutenant general. Nieh died in Beijing in 1971. What little material is available in English suggests that he was a reliable devotee of Mao Tse-Tung.
