This would lead him in confrontation with Johnny Blaze. After a violent struggle, Skinner is seemingly burned to death by Blaze until his skeleton emerges from the flames. Skinner laments how Blaze destroyed the only thing he had left of his human family; their skin which he wore. Ghost Rider arrives in time to aid Blaze who shoots hellfire from his shotgun into Skinner over and over again. As they leave, Skinner rises from the flames again. He would later appear in the Black Hole where he almost killed the robot right until he was stopped by Ghost Rider.
