| - Ryan, Adrien and Quilladin are running towards the centre of Mossdeep City. Ryan: “We may be at a disadvantage, but we still have to try.” Adrien: “But we don’t have a plan! We could get beaten!” But he still follows Ryan and Quilladin. The trio stops right in the center of Mossdeep. Ryan: “Let’s do this thing!” He takes out the Pokeball on which he had scrawled the lightning bolt. Ryan: “Pikachu, I choose you!” He tosses the Pokeball, and Pikachu pops out. Pikachu: “Pika!” Ryan: “Thunderbolt!” Pikachu uses Thunderbolt and then Laura's uses Dragon Pulse to cancel out Thunderbolt. Latios, Latias, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre are now near Ryan and Adrien. Joe and a few Team Flare Grunts walk near to Ryan and Adrien. Joe: So, you are back after bolting then. Ryan: “As if we’d ever really run away. Now…..” He takes out his four of his other Pokeballs. Ryan: “C’mon out everyone!” The rest of his Pokemon party pop out of their Pokeballs. Adrien: “You as well everyone!” He tosses his Pokeballs into the air. In addition to Pangoro and Goodra, Pokemon Ryan had never encountered before pop out of the Pokeballs. Though one is somewhat familiar. Ryan: “Is that a Diggersby evolution?” Adrien: “Huh? Oh, you mean Bunnelby. It’s Diggersby’s pre-evolution.” Ryan: “Anyway, let’s go! Pikachu, Thundershock!” Pikachu let loose some electricity, aiming at Primal Groudon. Primal Groudon uses Flamethrower and stops Thundershock and then it proceeds to hit Pikachu. Pikachu appears to faint instantly, but stands. Joe: Now attack! Primal Groudon uses flamethrower and knocks out all of Adriens Pokemon apart from Bunnelby. Primal Kyogre uses Hydro Pump and then knocks out all of Ryan's Pokemon apart from Quilladin, Delphox and Pikachu. Joe: Strong. Both Latios and Latias use Hyper Beam towards both Ryan and Adrien’s Pokemon. Ryan: “Pin Missile, Hyper Ember, and Thundershock!” Adrien: “Mud Shot Bunnelby!” All four Pokemon attack at once, and cancel out the move. Joe: Full power! Primal Groudon uses Flamethrower, Primal Kyogre used Origin Pulse, Latios and Latias use Dragon Pulse at Ryan and Adrien, as well as their Pokemon. They are all frozen in fright. Suddenly a blur speeds past Ryan and Adrien and stops in front of their Pokemon. All the moves hits the blur. After the smoke cloud disperses, Ryan and Adrien see it is Jon-Typhlosion, who used Shuriken Blaze to block the attack. Joe: If you are here, your pathetic trainer is too. Jon runs in. Jon: Well duh. But I have a friend to help out. Joe: How? Jon: Dragon Ascent! A green blur races past everyone and hits Latios, Latias, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. The green blur then moves next to Jon. Joe: Rayquaza! Jon: When we blasted off, we landed at Sky Pillar. Adrien: “Whoa!” Joe: I'm afraid a legendary isn't going to help you stop us. Jon hold up his mega ring. Jon: It does if we even up the playing field. Jon taps the mega ring and Rayquaza mega evolves. Ryan: “Whoa! Delphox, let’s do this!” Delphox becomes Ryan-Delphox. Ryan: “Use Pin Missile, Thundershock, Water Pledge, Bullet Seed and Hyper Ember!” Adrien: “Stun Spore and Power Whip!” All eight Pokemon attack at once, aiming for Latias and Latios. Latias and Latios use Dragon Pulse and cancel out the attacks. Latios and Latias uses Dragon Pulse again and Primal Groudon uses Flamethrower with Primal Kyogre using Origin Pulse. All the moves hit Ryan's Pokemon, Adriens Pokemon, Jon-Typhlosion and Mega Rayquaza. Jon: We need to stop them! Where is their brain wave control device? Ryan: “No idea. I’ll go find it Jon, you and Adrien occupy Joe and the Primal Pokemon. Delphox, Greninja and Pikachu, with me. The rest of you help Jon and Adrien.” The Pokemon nod and the three chosen Pokemon follow Ryan as he runs off. Adrien (to Jon): “You think that was the right choice for him to make?” Jon: Not sure. But it's his choice. I think there are two separate control things. One for Latios and Latias. And the other for the other two. Wonder which one Ryan will find. Rayquaza, help out Ryan please. Mega Rayquaza nods, and follows Ryan. The trainer is still looking for a mind control device when the Pokemon catches up to him. Ryan: “Rayquaza, what are you doing here? It’s not that I don’t want your help, but Jon will need you more than I will.” Mega Rayquaza shakes its head and tells Ryan he is helping him. Three team flare grunts turn up and all send out Houndoom. There are 6 Houndoom in total. Flare Grunt: Hyper Beam All the Houndoom use Hyper Beam towards Ryan and his Pokemon. Ryan: “Oh boy. Delphox, go! Cancel it out with your own Hyper Beam!” Delphox does so, but the discharge of energy causes a massive explosion. Luckily, Mega Rayquaza has protected Ryan and his Pokemon from harm. Ryan: “Thanks Rayquaza. Now Pikachu, Thundershock!” Pikachu lets out a burst of electricity, aiming at the Houndoom. Flare Grunt: Use Flamethrower. All the Houndoom use Flamethrower. Ryan: “Greninja, Water Pledge! Pikachu, charge it up with Thundershock!” Greninja sends three pillars of water which are laced with Pikachu’s electricity, towards the Houndoom. There is a big explosion, but all the Pokémon are fine and standing. Mega Rayquaza then uses Dragon Pulse and knocks out all the Houndoom and the flare grunts. Ryan: “Guess I was wrong. Thanks Rayquaza. Now, let’s find that mind control machine!” The group runs off, looking around for the machine. They run down a few hallways and then find a machine. However it is protected by 10 mind controlled Absol’s. Ryan: “Oh crud, this isn’t good. Pikachu, Thundershock! Delphox, Hyper Ember!” Both Pokemon attack the Absol at once, but they’re barely phased by the assault. Ryan: “Oh boy, it’s gonna be one of those battle again.” He pulls his Pokedex from his pocket, pointing it at Rayquaza. Pokedex: “Rayquaza, the Dragon/Flying Type Pokemon. It flies forever through the ozone layer, consuming meteoroids for sustenance. The many meteoroids in its body provide the energy it needs to Mega Evolve.” There’s a list of attacks Rayquaza can learn on the screen, and Ryan looks through it. Ryan: “Rayquaza, Dragon Claw!” Mega Rayquaza heads towards the Absol using Dragon Claw but they all use Protect. Then the Absol all use Hyper Beam at Ryan. Ryan: “Oh come on, not again!” He braces for impact, but Pikachu jumps in and takes the damage for him. This assault, coupled with the attack from their encounter with Joe, causes the Electric Type to faint. Ryan: “Pikachu!” There’s a split second of pause, then something snaps in Ryan’s brain. The trainer turns his full attention to the battle. Ryan: “Hyper Ember, Quick Attack and Crunch! Don’t give them any chance to use Protect either!” Greninja, Ryan-Delphox and Mega Rayquaza all attack at once. They all lands their marks and the Greninja uses Water Pledge to destroy the control machine. After Ryan returns Pikachu to his Pokeball, the trainer and his Pokemon jump onto Mega Rayquaza who takes them to where Jon and the others are. Latios and Latias are no longer mind controlled. Ryan (from Mega Rayquaza’s back): “We got one of the machines. Latios, Latias, are you alright?” They nod. Jon: Good work. But Latias and Latios are too tired to battle. We need to stop Joe! Ryan: “Right. I’ll take Rayquaza and you can-.” He abruptly screams out, as if in pain. A split second later, he falls to the side, slipping off Mega Rayquaza’s back and starting to fall. Jon: Ryan! Jon and Adrien can't do anything but watch Ryan fall. The trainer hits the ground hard, and a cloud of dust rises up around him, hiding him from view. Jon: What happened? When the dust clears, it’s revealed that Ryan appears to have fainted, which is why he fell from Mega Rayqaza’s back. Pikachu: “Pika!” Ryan-Delphox jumps off Mega Rayquaza’s back, lands beside her trainer, and scoops him up, holding Ryan bridal style. It’s a couple moments later when Ryan recovers, putting a hand to his forehead with a groan. Ryan: “What happened to me? Was it the ‘feeling-Delphox’s-pain’ thing again?” Jon: You just fainted. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre both use Hyper Beam, but Jon-Typhlosion and Ryan-Delphox block the attacks. Ryan: “It has to be have been Delphox’s pain. I wouldn’t just faint without reason. Delphox, Ember!” Ryan-Delphox uses Ember but Primal Groudon knocks it away. Joe: You are useless! You can't defeat the legendary Pokemon! Ryan growls audibly. Ryan: “Delphox, Pikachu Rayquaza, use Hyper Beam, Thundershock and Dragon Claw!” All three Pokemon attack Primal Groudon at once, but the Pokemon deflects them easily. Ryan: “Oh for the love of-.” He cuts himself off with a groan. Ryan (Sarcastically): “Great. Just peachy.” Jon: Well that obviously wouldn't work. What to do? The sky begins to fill with rain clouds and a big storm happens with rain crashing down on the ground. After a few seconds, the sky parts open and the sun shines brightly, feeling very hot. Then a few seconds later, the rain begins again. This keeps on cycling. Jon: The problem with having both Groudon and Kyogre on the field. Adrien: “What should we do now? Ryan: “I’ll continue looking for the mind control machines, you and Jon apprehend Groudon and Kyogre. Rayquaza, Delphox, Pikachu, with me, alright?” Joe: You won't find it. No matter how much you search. Jon: Interesting. Mega Rayquaza swoops down and let’s the trainer and Ryan-Delphox jump on its back. Ryan: “Adrien, Jon, do the best you can. Let’s go Rayquaza!” They fly off. Adrien (to Jon): “You think he’s putting too much faith in us? I’m thinking that an extremely tiny bit.” Meanwhile, Ryan, Mega Rayquaza and Ryan-Delphox are still looking for the mind control machine. Ryan: “Keep an eye out you two, there’s a chance the guard around the machine will come and attack us.” Mega Rayquaza swoops to the ground, and Ryan jumps off its back. A split second later, he’s abruptly pounced on, and falls to the ground. Ryan: “Ugh!” He looks up, and sees he’s being pinned down by a Houndoom. Ryan: “Oh well that’s great. More of these fire-dogs.” Houndoom snarls and growls at Ryan. Ryan: “Use Dragon Claw Rayquaza!” Mega Rayquaza uses Dragon Claw and knocks Houndoom off. Ryan jumps to his feet. Ryan: “Delphox, Hyper Ember!” Ryan-Delphox fires Hyper Ember in the direction of the Houndoom guard. But they all use their own Ember attacks, which cancels out the original attack. One of the Houndoom steps forward, but it doesn’t look like any of its fellow guard. Ryan is confused by this for a moment, but then gasps in horrific realization. Ryan: “Houndoom has a Mega Evolution!” Mega Houndoom uses Thunder Fang on Ryan-Delphox, which causes her extreme pain. Ryan: “Delphox, no!” But Ryan-Delphox turns back into Delphox and collapses. Ryan: “No…” Abandoning all pretense, not to mention blinded by rage, Ryan runs forward and spin-kicks Mega Houndoom in the muzzle. This makes the Mega Pokemon extremely angry. Ryan: “Uh oh, I messed up!” He braces himself for the pain of an attack. Jon-Typhlosion then hits all the Houndoom with Focus Blast. Jon arrives too. Jon: Adrien is keeping Joe at bay. He is good. Ryan: “Thanks for the save. Let’s finish this!” Jon: Okay. But I can't shake this feeling the device isn't here. Ryan: “Let’s go! Rayquaza, Dragon Claw!” All the Houndoom use Flamethrower on Mega Rayquaza before it can attack. Ryan: “Rayquaza!” Mega Rayquaza survives the attack, and Ryan looks through its attack list again. Jon: Rayquaza, help Adrien outside. Both Pokemon in Primal forms is a challenge. Ryan and I have this. Mega Rayquaza nods and flies outside. Jon: You ready so stop these Houndoom Ryan? Ryan: “You know it. Greninja, let’s go!” Greninja jumps into battle. Ryan: “Combine a Quick Attack with Pound!” Greninja dashes towards the Houndoom, a fist drawn back. He manages to hit one of the Houndoom, but while it was damaged, the hit Houndoom was still standing. Greninja moved back to Ryan. Jon: Focus Blast! Jon-Typhlosion sends Focus Blast towards the five Houndoom but they stop it with Flamethrower. Jon: Argh Ryan: “Water Pledge!” Greninja sends three pillars of water towards the Houndoom. Mega Houndoom uses Fire Blast and stops the Water Pledge. Jon: Shadow Claw! Jon-Typhlosion runs towards the Houndoom using Shadow Claw. He hits them all but only knocks out two, leaving three remaining, one of which is the mega. Ryan: “Ugh, wish I had Mega Sceptile. Pikachu, Thundershock them all!” Pikachu: “Pika!” Pikachu lets off a burst of electricity which hits its mark. But the Houndoom and their Mega Evolved leader are barely phased. Jon: Does Pikachu know Volt Tackle? Ryan: “Not that I know of. I’ve barely trained Pikachu since I caught it.” Jon: Use your Pokedex to find out. Ryan facepalms. Ryan: “Now I just feel stupid.” He pulls out his Pokedex. Ryan: “Not at the moment, but Pikachu is able to learn it. I need to train it more before it can use it though. Damn, I guess Volt Tackle would’ve given us an edge.” Jon: Well attack then! Doesn't matter if you don't have Volt Tackle. The remaining Houndoom’s use Fire Blast towards ryan’s Pokemon and Jon-Typhlosion. Ryan: “Water Pledge Greninja!” Greninja uses the attack, and the water snuffs out the Fire Blast. Jon: Focus Blast! Jon-Typhlosion uses Focus Blast and leaves only Mega Houndoom remaining, as the other Houndoom have been knocked out. Ryan: “Delphox, Typhlosion, both of you attack! Focus Blast and Hyper Ember!” Both Pokemon fire their attacks at Mega Houndoom. They hit the Mega Evolved Pokemon right in the face. Mega Houndoom then uses Dark Pulse and the move hits Ryan-Delphox, causing a lot of damage, as its super effective. Jon: Now, Focus Blast! Jon-Typhlosion tries to use Focus Blast but Mega Houndoom has already hit him with Dark Pulse, causing a bit of damage. Ryan: “Jon, can you and Typhlosion cover me? I need to get Pikachu to the Pokemon Center if we’re going to have any hope of actually trying to take down a Pokemon like Mega Houndoom.” He’s referring to earlier, when he had Pikachu charge Greninja’s water attack with electricity. Without waiting for Jon’s response, Ryan turns and runs off. Ryan (As he’s running): “Keep fighting Delphox!” He continues to run, but is once again pounced on and thrown to the ground. The trainer looks up, and sees he’s being pinned down by a Pokemon with white fur and a blue, jagged-looking horn. Ryan: “What kind of Pokemon are you?” His Pokedex manages to get a scan from its place in his pocket Pokedex: “Absol, the Dark Type Disaster Pokemon. Although it’s said they bring disaster, Absol actually possess a calm disposition and warn people of impending crises. It’s rumored Absol have a lifespan of one hundred years.” Ryan: “Wow, that’s neat. He turns his attention to Absol, who looks down at him Ryan: “But not in this case. I have a sneaking suspicion about who your trainer is. Joe, wherever you are, get Absol off me!” Absol hits Ryan with Psycho Cut, sending Ryan in the air and rolling on the ground till he stops in front of Joe. Joe: What are you trying to do? Ryan: “Heal my Pikachu you jerk.” He shows Joe the Pokeball marked with a lightning bolt. Ryan: “I can’t care about my Pokemon? Not that caring about them is something you would understand.” Joe: We have control of every building here in Mossdeep, you thought you could just sneakily heal your Pokemon? The reality is, you are running away like a coward. From his position on the ground, Ryan retorts by swinging his foot into Joe’s legs and knocking him to the ground. Unfortunately, that leads to Absol attacking him again. Ryan: “Ouch!” He stands up. Ryan: “You really think I’d abandon Jon a second time? Not a chance.” Joe: Yet you just ran away from him to get your Pikachu healed. And you also left Delphox there too, along with Quilladin. You sure you’re not abandoning anyone. Ryan clenches his fists, growling through gritted teeth. Ryan: “You’re despicable you know that? Capturing those two Pokemon and trying destroy the world. No wonder you joined up with Team Flare. If either of us is running from anything, it’s you! You’re trying to run from your own insecurities!” Joe: Lysandre was right, this world is plagued by people like you and Jon with stupid ideals. There is nothing good to come of this futile resistance Ryan. You’re the one trying to outrun your insecurities as you think that you are a failing trainer as you have no goal at all, especially after giving up in the Kalos League. Ryan: “I didn't ‘give up’ anything Joe. I decided my journey and raising my Pokémon were a bit more important than a silly competition. Not that that's something you’d understand. Not to mention Pokémon aren't tools for us humans to use. They've got feelings like we do. Joe, actually stop and look at what you're doing. Would the Pokémon you’ve used, abused and captured really want something like what you're trying to achieve today to happen?” Absol uses Dark Pulse near Ryan. Joe: Absol thinks that I am right. What's the point I you resisting. You have to agree that this world isn't perfect. Ryan (Voice ice cold): “Better an imperfect world than a world brought on by a raging lunatic and his followers.” Absol takes offense to this, and uses its horn to knock Ryan onto his back. Pikachu’s Pokeball goes flying, and Absol uses its horn to bounce it to Joe. Ryan: “Pikachu, no!” Joe: The first Pokemon to be given as a subject to our mind control device! It is powerful enough to control Kyogre and Groudon even in their primal forms. Ryan: “Pikachu….” He gets to his feet. He puts a hand into his hoodie pocket, gripping the Pokégear. Ryan: “Give Pikachu back you twisted deranged maniac! Or I’ll have to bring in the big guns!” Joe: What? Your parents? I'm shaking. Ryan: “No, something a little bit worse.” Ryan shuts his eyes, remembering a phone number as he blindly types it, along with a written message. Ryan: “For you I mean.” Mega Rayquaza arrives. Ryan: “Ah, my plan worked. Not to mentioned I managed to type blindly.” Joe: A Mega Pokemon? Pathetic.Groudon! Primal Groudon walks over to Joe and sees Mega Rayquaza. Ryan: “Dragon Claw!” Mega Rayquaza zooms towards Primal Groudon, preparing to strike it. Primal Groudon uses Flamethrower, knocking Mega Rayquaza back. Ryan: “Extreme Speed!” Mega Rayquaza hits with Extreme Speed but Groudon hits it back with Dragon Claw, causing a lot of damage. Ryan: “Don't give up Rayquaza! Let's retaliate with a Dragon Claw of our own!” Mega Rayquaza hits Primal Groudon, but the latter Pokémon isn't very hurt. Ryan: “Oh no.” Primal Groudon uses Hyper Beam, hitting Mega Rayquaza. Mega Rayquaza hits the ground hard. Joe: Pathetic. Ryan: “That's better than what you are. Give me Pikachu back you jerk!” Joe: Sure Joe places Pikachu on the floor and then presses a button and a beam shoots from somewhere and hits Pikachu. Pikachu looks at Ryan and uses Thunderbolt towards him. Ryan jumps out of the way, landing in a kneeling position. Ryan: “Oh come on, really?” He stands and rushes to find Jon, which doesn’t actually take that long, as he and Ryan’s Pokemon friends are being chased by a Magmar. Ryan screeches to a halt. Ryan: “Jon, Joe got Pikachu! What are we going to do?” ???: “Aqua Tail!” The Magmar is hit, and it’s revealed the attackers were Adrien and Goodra. Ryan: “Adrien!” Adrien: “You two find a way to free Pikachu, I’ll stall Magmar.” Ryan: “Just be careful.” Adrien nods, and Ryan, Jon and their Pokemon run back to fight Joe. Ryan: “Give it up Joe, as long as this keeps going, we’ll keep trying!” Jon: Let Pikachu go. Joe: Pikachu is doing this not me. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt again. Jon’s Greninja jumps in the way, taking the attack. Ryan: “What’re we going to do!? We're getting slammed!” Jon: Stop worrying Joe: Worrying is all he can do! We have control of Pikachu now! Ryan: “That's it! Pikachu, listen to the sound of my voice! You're being controlled by Joe! Fight it Pikachu! You know what you're doing is wrong!” At first, nothing seems to happen. Then, a split second later, Pikachu starts charging up a Thundershock. Ryan: “Welp, didn't expect it to work anyway.” But Pikachu turns and zaps Joe and Absol with the electricity. Ryan: “No way! I don't believe it!” Pikachu turns back towards Ryan, who takes a nervous step back. But he relaxes when Pikachu runs up and jumps into his arms. Ryan: “Pikachu!” Pikachu: “Pika!” Absol uses Psycho Cut at Ryan and Pikachu hitting its mark. Joe: Releasing Pikachu is no victory. Ryan (wincing): “Maybe not to you…” Pikachu is angry at Absol and Joe. Joe: You can't beat me! Something around Joe’s waist sparks. Jon: That's it! Greninja, Water Shuriken. Greninja uses Water Shuriken and hits Joe’s waist and a small device gets catapulted into the air. Jon: Ryan, get Pikachu to destroy it! Ryan: “Alright Pikachu, use your Thundershock!” Pikachu jumps out of Ryan’s arms and lets loose a bolt of electricity, which hits the device and causes it to explode. Joe: No! Both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre stop attacking Mossdeep. Joe: Why you! Jon: Considering we couldn't find the device, it makes sense you have it on your person. Ryan: “I’ve gotta say, that’s actually pretty clever. Alright Pi-.” That’s when he and Jon’s other Pokemon rejoin them, along with Adrien. Ryan: “Awesome, you’re all okay! Let’s finish this off with a bang! Thundershock, Hyper Ember, Quick Attack, Bullet Seed, Pin Missile, and Supersonic!” Adrien: “Work up and Aqua Tail!” All the moves head towards Joe and his Team flare grunts and their Pokémon, knocking them all out. Jon: Done and dusted. Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon move towards Jon and everyone else. Jon: It's okay. The threat has been neutralised. Mega Rayquaza moves in front of Jon and stares at both the primal Pokemon. Soon afterwards, both Kyogre and Groudon head away from Mossdeep. Mega Rayquaza reverts back into its normal form and then flies away. Jon: Well, now we have saved Hoenn. Ryan: “High-five dudes!” The trio high-five. Adrien: “Well, I think that’s enough excitement for a lifetime for me. I think I’m just going to head home.” Ryan: “Good idea actually. I haven’t seen Kalos in ages, not to mention my family.” Both trainers return their Pokemon to their Pokeballs. Adrien: “Jon, Ryan, it was nice working with you.” Ryan: “You too buddy.” Now that Adrien’s left, Ryan and Jon are alone together. Ryan: “Well, it was a stretch, but we did it.” Jon: Yeah. Well I hope the trip back home goes well. Ryan: “What about you? You said you were going to see about going on another journey or something, right?” Jon: Yeah. But I still have to keep an eye out while Steven is in Kalos. Ryan: “Right. Well, hope everything goes well after I leave. Everyone would’ve been screwed if I hadn’t been with you, as well as suggested recruiting Adrien.” There’s a pause. Ryan: “I’m joking, of course. We both did a good job. So did our Pokemon.” Jon: Yeah they did. Ryan: “Will I ever see you again?” Jon: Not sure. I'm hoping so but it depends on the paths we take. Ryan: “Well, bye then.” Ryan and Quilladin walk off, Ryan (Thinking): ‘I was always at my best when teaming up with Jon. Now it seems like that dynamic is never gonna happen again.” The duo pause their walking, and Ryan looks over Mossdeep City. Ryan (thinking; smiling): “But we saved the world, and that’s all that matters right now.’ He and Quilladin continue on their way.
